At about 8.30pm on Friday, riot police hemmed in a group of about 100 peace protesters in Western Road, Brighton.
They then cleared onlookers with repeated baton charges.
An innocent bystander was knocked to the ground.
Protesters sustained serious injuries. Snatch squads went in and arrested people.
