Piano fans have a real treat on Sunday afternoon when Steven Osborne unveils his first performance of the Brahms first piano concerto.
It is a huge piece, taking up the whole of the second half, requiring intense concentration and focus.
Steven says: "I have been studying the piece for the past eight months although it has been with me ever since secondary school. Now I feel I am ready."
He is no stranger to the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra, having won the BHPS Piano Concerto and becoming a finalist in the piano section of the BBC Young Musician of the Year Award.
Barry Wordsworth returns to conduct this concert, which also includes Mozart's Symphony No 29 and Love Scenes from Hector Berlioz' Romeo and Juliet.
