As a teacher with a daughter who took part in Blatchington Mill demonstration against war on Iraq, I would like to express my admiration for her and her colleagues.

That the future custodians of our world, as yet unable to vote, have shown us their concern for their fellow human beings should be a great comfort to all their dependents-to-be.

What a pity the headteacher of their school (motto: Involvement, Achievement, Care) should cast as "mindless idiots" those of his flock who became involved with a cause and achieved a good deal of publicity because they care about others.
