An elderly woman had to be evacuated from her home when a caravan fire threatened to engulf her bungalow.
Residents spotted flames just after 3.15am on Saturday and raised the alarm.
The caravan was parked on the driveway of an address in Lawrence Avenue, Rustington and the blaze could have spread to the bungalow.
The vehicle also had gas canisters inside and there were fears they might explode.
Firefighters from East Preston arrived on the scene within minutes and brought the situation under control.
