A landmark building may be demolished to make way for flats and houses despite dozens of protests.

Developers, in conjunction with Worthing Homes, want to knock down 1-13 South Farm Road, Worthing, to make way for the complex.

The building, formerly an antique furniture warehouse, is situated opposite the Clifton pub near the railway line.

Worthing Borough Council has received a 74-name petition and nine letters protesting at the proposed scheme, which objectors say will result in parking chaos.

Residents of Orme Road are especially concerned about the plans and fear they may result in them being unable to park outside their homes.

Councillors will discuss the matter on Tuesday.
