A Brighton internet duo have come up with a simple way of taking the strain out of getting married - a free online wedding planner.

Brother and sister Rob Starr and Tracey Narvaez, who both live in Westdene, claim to be able to organise a couple's special day for free, at the click of a mouse.

Tracey and Rob have developed a web site offering advice on the myriad ways to say "I do", while avoiding the fuss of calling in hired helpers like J-Lo's character in The Wedding Planner.

The Which Wedding site features couples' stories, explains the traditions involved in different religious marriage ceremonies and offers advice on honeymoons and tying the knot abroad.

There are plans to introduce personalised online wedding diaries for users, giving them daily updates on what they should be doing in the run-up to the big day.

Rob, 33, and Tracey, 35 also hope to create up-to-date lists of recommended wedding services, such as photographers and florists, in postcode areas.

With a team of nine working on the site in the UK and a further eight carrying out research in the United States, Tracey and Rob hope it will be a hit both sides of the Atlantic.

The idea for the site came from Rob after he got married in June 2001.

He and his wife Sharon are Jewish but did not want a religious wedding.

Rob said: "Rather than having a religious wedding that did not suit us, we wanted to pick the bits we liked.

'But with all the magazines and web sites catering for traditional weddings, we found it extremely difficult to plan something a bit different.

"Getting married was the greatest day of my life but planning it was a bit of a minefield. It would have been so helpful to have had a source of information to help plan it our way."

After his wedding Rob, who runs his own insurance company, spoke to Tracey about his idea for the web site.

Tracey, who got married in 1994, has spent just over a year researching the site in her spare time, with help from friends in Brighton and the US.

She said: "It has been fascinating looking into all the different types of weddings. I kept asking myself, 'What would I have wanted when I got married?' and hopefully this web site is it."

Anyone who would like to share their wedding day experiences should visit the web site at www.whichwedding.co.uk.

Tracey and Rob have offered free bottles of champagne for the best stories.
