As an ex-pat Brightonian living in Wales, I can honestly say it is the best move I have ever made.
Fair enough, we don't have the night-life but we do have Dublin just over the water, we have fantastic beaches, a people with a real pride and passion for their community, very affordable housing and a crime rate of virtually zero.
When you enter Wales, it's like turning your clock back and de-stressing -as I say, I love it.
