Eastbourne Eagles have secured a sponsorship deal which they believe will safeguard the future of the sport in Sussex.

Cinque Ports Leisure, which is based at Ore near Hastings, is pumping a "five figure" sum into the club.

The company operates a large number of holiday villages around the UK and runs thriving caravan sales outlets.

The sponsors will be referred to as Cinque Ports Holidays and this name will appear on the specially-commissioned race suits and bike covers that the team will display during the new season which starts next month.

Eagles owner Terry Russell, said: "This is a great boost for the Eagles and will help secure the long-term future of the team."
