I am amazed the mature ladies did not know any better than to move hotel furniture (Lis Solkhon, February 10).

They were guests at the hotel, they had not bought the place. Would they go into each other's homes and move the furniture about without asking?

Somehow, I think not. I am sure if they had simply asked the manager if they could have re-arranged the tables, providing there was no good reason to refuse - such as waiter access or fires - he would have been co-operative.

Apparently, manners and age do not always go hand in hand.
