The Brodsky Quartet will be in contemporary mode with a show featuring a collaboration between Wallace And Gromit composer Julian Nott and Icelandic poet Sjorn.

The show will also include a selection of songs by Bjork, Elvis Costello, Sting, Paul McCartney and Ron Sexsmith and a new piece by Django Bates.

It is the first gig on a national tour aimed at showing the string quartet in a 21st Century setting.

Joining the ensemble will be singers Jacqueline Dankworth and Ian Shaw.

Certainly the Brodskys have never felt the pressure of tradition - they perform a great deal of contemporary music and had a successful album in The Juliet Letters with Elvis Costello.
