Crawley caretaker-boss Francis Vines hopes to bring in two new players this week.

They are unlikely to be at the club in time for tonight's League Cup third round trip to eastern division Burnham, but Vines hopes to have them available on Saturday for the league game at Weymouth.

The departure of Dave Stevens and a hamstring injury to Barry Moore, which sidelines him again tonight, has left Vines' resources a bit stretched.

Reds are anxious to return to winning ways after suffering their first defeat under Vines at Chippenham on Saturday. Further incentive is a home tie against Chelmsford in the quarter-finals for tonight's winners.

Vines said: "After Saturday, when we lost 1-0 to a side who are now second in the table, I don't think we should fear anyone.

"I like to think that we are a hard side to break down now, but we must start taking the half-chances we create and stop conceding goals at set pieces."

Vines may give experience to a couple of his reserve team players, probably on the bench.

Meanwhile, Stevens is poised to make his Bognor debut at Tooting and Mitcham in Ryman League division one south, especially as Lee Stevens is banned.

Rocks are able to welcome back defender Kevin Murphy who has been out for over two months with a groin problem.

Horsham have a doubt over Steve Payne (back) for the trip to bottom of the table Chertsey.

Lewes boss Jimmy Quinn wants to return to winning ways at home to Whyteleafe.

The Rooks drew 2-2 at Dulwich Hamlet on Saturday, a result that would have pleased most people, but Quinn wanted more.

He said: "Before the game it would have been a good point. At half-time we were well on top and I felt if we had carried that on we would have won comfortably. The second-half, though, was a poor performance again.

"Tonight is important. If we are to get out of this division we need to get three points at home."

Matt Allen (hamstring), Stuart Hack (illness) and Joe Clark (back) continue to be missing.
