So, what is happening to Brighton's West Pier? The possibility of it finally crashing into the sea, to be lost forever, is there for all to see.
Would the West Pier Trust be held accountable through negligence if a large chunk should fall into the path of a ship or small fishing boat?
Now is the time to act, not after the event, as is all too frequently the case.
