The magnanimity of The Argus in printing the names of the best writers to the letters page during 2002 was appreciated.

I would like to commend the editor responsible for the headlines and captions that appear with the letters. They are most appropriate and, sometimes, amusing. It did make me smile when the letter referring to overspending on presents at Christmas was headed "Jesus Jones" (December 14).

It would be of interest if the letter regarded as the best of the month in the opinion of the editor were published in the weekend edition at the end of the month.

As The Argus suggests, keep those letters coming during 2003, please.
