Top try scorer Henry Goodburn is rated doubtful for Haywards Heath as they bid to strengthen their prospects of national league rugby.

Goodburn, who has collected six tries in the first eight matches of the campaign, has missed training this week after suffering a calf injury.

He has been named provisionally in the starting line-up to go to fifth-placed Staines in London One tomorrow though Andy Cook is on standby to take his place.

Heath also make two changes to the pack which took on Brighton last week as lock Rick Ure and flanker Tom Hills replace Damien Lyall and James Arthur respectively.

Skipper Alex Meredith believes his men are raring to go after a change to their training routine this week.

He said: "We have had two good sessions on the artificial surface at Hurstpierpoint College.

"We did some fitness and ball work and it helped us change the focus for the players."

Worthing must avoid the sort of mishap they suffered at lowly Effingham as they host an Andover outfit in the bottom two.

The Hampshire side scored a rare win at home to Cobham last week and, with a sizeable contingent of players from the armed forces, are expected to field a pretty strong side at Roundstone Lane.

Full back Simon Swadling is ruled out for Worthing as he studies for exams which gives coach Ian Davies two options for his back division.

Alistair Wood may earn a recall at No. 10 with Ben Coulson going back to full back. Alternatively, Coulson stays put and Ali Coombe wears 15.

Brighton will get a good indication of their promotion chances as they go to new table toppers Sidcup in London Three East.

Skipper Mark Jenkins, now back in action in the front row, has been pinpointing the Kent men as the side to beat for several weeks.

By contrast, East Grinstead and Eastbourne desperately need to halt worrying slides as they clash at Saint Hill while Lewes can ease into a healthy league position with a win at Charlton Park Leaders Chichester face one of the away games which could decide whether they take the title as they go to Guy's Hospital.

A Chi slip-up will suit Hove and Bognor, who lock horns in their own four-pointer.

Hove skipper Richard Jackson admitted: "It's a big one for us now. This division is still wide open."

Scrum half James Finlason (hamstring) and full back Martin Lovell (knee) are absent for the hosts so Struan Robertson wears No. 9 and Andy Standing comes in on the wing with Ashley Drakeford dropping to full back.

Bognor have problems in the front row and have pressed second-teamer Tony Johnson into action on his comeback from injury.

Heathfield will be fired up to do the other high-flyers a favour by winning at Bromley while Crawley badly need a home win over Folkestone.

There is also a full round of Sussex division one and two games with title chasers Hastings facing an awkward trip to Pulborough in the top flight.
