Police in Horsham confiscated 29 litres of alcohol from under-age drinkers, some as young as 13, in just two days.
Officers took to the streets for Operation Pecan, which hopes to reduce alcohol and drug-related crime in the town centre on Friday and Saturday nights.
Project co-ordinator PC Graham Milner said: "We didn't have to make a single arrest as we were able to establish a presence and intervene early to tackle potential trouble before it surfaced.
"Police also visited Southwater and Broadbridge Heath youth centres, moving people on and seizing drink from youths and we were able to offer assistance and reassurance to licensees.
"People will see a drastic reduction in under-age drinking on the streets as well as in public disorder and can go out and enjoy themselves knowing that there will be a uniformed presence in town."
Inspector Simon Morley, neighbourhood policing team inspector for Horsham North, said the operation could be adopted by the force if it continued to produce results.
He said: "Operation Pecan will be continued for a number of weeks and at the end it will be examined in terms of reducing problems of antisocial behaviour and drunkenness."
