A pensioner suffered a dislocated shoulder and a head wound after a youth knocked her to the ground and snatched her bag.
The elderly woman was walking along a footpath when the man, believed to be in his early 20s, struck.
The mugging happened at 4.40pm yesterday on a footpath between Paddockhurst Road and Pollards in Gossops Green, Crawley.
Two young boys found the woman lying on the ground and ran to get help.
