I have just read the article on the Brighton Marina development. Having been an active boat owner at the marina for more than 20 years, I feel I need to respond to Parkridge's comments.

Having more shops and bars at the marina in no way enhances the facilities for its users.

Better parking for boat owners and crew, a permanent yacht club and greater emphasis on facilities for local boat owners are the issues that should be addressed.

The Brighton Marina Act wasm quite clear that the Marina was intended for the use of local boat owners.

It was never intended to be a property developer's dream. One might even question if the property developers are breaking the law.
