A woman suffered serious head injuries when she was hit by a car as she crossed the road.
The 40-year-old was taken to East Surrey Hospital in Redhill after the accident at 7.40pm last night on the Balcombe Road, near the Parsons Pig Pub, in Tinsley Green, Crawley.
The driver of the Rover, a 74-year-old man from Horley, was not injured.
