Lee Newman fired Lewes into second place in Ryman League division one (south) with an impressive hat-trick in a 7-0 demolition of Chertsey Town.

New signing from Eastbourne Borough Matt Allen also scored on his debut against a Chertsey side who have not won a match this season.

A rampant Lewes besieged Paul Seuke's penalty box and scored three goals in the last 20 minutes.

The Rooks entertained the Dripping Pan crowd from the start with Luke Gedling spraying diagonal passes to Danny Davis on the right wing.

In the 13th minute Davis stabbed a centre to Newman who shimmied past a defender and opened the scoring with a low drive past Seuke.

Newman struck again on 26 minutes when he completed a superb, twisting run past two defenders with an assured finish. Gedling scored the third two minutes later when he found space in the area.

Lewes keeper Russell Tanner was not called into action until the second half when he denied Symon James while at the other end Paul Kennett made it 4-0 on 51 minutes with a fabulous 30-yard drive.

Allen came off the bench to score his first for Lewes in the 73rd minute while Kennett secured his brace in the 82nd with a powerful header and man-of-the-match Newman completed his deserved treble in the last minute.

Bognor produced a sparkling attacking display at Egham where they came from behind to win 6-1.

The hosts went ahead in the 35th minute through former Bognor player Matt Edwards but the visitors took control with two goals in four minutes before the break.

Matt Russell headed in Richard Hudson's cross for the equaliser and Hudson was again the provider for Lee Stevens who marked his debut by making it 2-1 on the stroke of half-time.

Russell tapped in David Birmingham's cross for 3-1 after 48 minutes and Egham's plight worsened when Jack McKinlay was sent off for bringing down Birmingham in the box, his second bookable offence.

Kevin Murphy duly converted the penalty to make it 4-1, Hudson drilled in the fifth on 56 minutes and substitute Nicky Wyatt completed the rout late on.

Worthing beat Molesey 3-1 at Woodside Road to register their first home win for two months.

Mark Knee gave them the perfect start when he fired in his tenth of the season from Gary Young's cross after just three minutes.

Frenchman Florian Mateos made it 2-0 from Andy Walker's pass while Ben Carrington hit the post before Mateos headed in a cross from Welsey Lopez for Worthing's third before half-time.

The visitors, beaten just once in their previous eight games, pulled one back when Richard Brady, who is on loan from Queens Park Rangers, beat Matthew May with a curling effort, but Rebels were easy winners.

Knee wasted the chance to score his second when he struck the post with a 65th minute penalty.
