The line dance organised and arranged by Route 66, the Worthing country and western dance club, held last week at the Pier Pavilion was a complete success.
I am especially grateful to Mike Howarth and his wife, Margaret, and their excellent band of helpers for their support to raise funds for the Worthing Cancer Breast Care Clinic.
I also extend grateful thanks to The Westcoasters and Johnny Scott together with their supporting artists for the outstanding music.
I also to wish thank all the local traders and individuals who so willingly donated excellent prizes for the raffle.
It is, perhaps, unfair to single out any particular group but I really must say a very big thank you to all the restaurateurs - of various nationalities - who donated meals in their establishments.
Also, I must thank all those line dancers who supported the event and made it such a great success.
It gives one a great deal of personal satisfaction that the event was so successful because this "good cause" was going to be my main fundraising effort had I been mayor of Worthing this year.
-Coun John Livermore, Worthing
