Fresh from his 100-date sell-out UK tour, the irrepressible Lee Evans is back with the show that sold out the Dome Concert Hall twice earlier on this year.

Quick-witted stories about gas showrooms, seagulls and aeroplane toilets are punctuated with his characteristic funny walks, contortions and twitches.

Fast and daft, there's something of Michael Crawford's hapless yet loveable Frank Spencer in Lee.

He was exposed to the demands of showbiz at an early age. His father, entertainer Dave Evans, still performs at clubs and pier ends.

Lee says: "My brother and I grew up in digs, theatres and clubs. We used to sit in the back of the car or be stuck backstage taking to dancers while Dad was doing his act."

After a spell as a boxer and two years at art school in Essex, Lee decided to follow in his father's footsteps.

The first four years were spent touring working men's clubs, the next five on the alternative circuit.

Like a lot of established comics, his break came in 1988 at the Edinburgh Festival and Lee has barely stopped since.

His comedy career has also taken him on to the silver screen, his movie career including appearance in films such as There's Something About Mary, Mousehunt and The Martins with Kathy Burke.

Currently working on the all-action movie Highbinders with the legendary Jackie Chan, this is clearly a man with more than one string to his bow.

Show starts 7.30pm, tickets £20/£19
