Thank goodness Ken Livingstone has decided to spend the rest of his political days in London as opposed to Brighton and Hove.
While it is within his remit to choose to hit motorists with a £5-a-day congestion charge every day to enter the capital, he now decides to enter the local political debate by suggesting Brighton and Hove should have something similar.
Fortunately, the people of Brighton and Hove had the intelligence to reject a directly elected mayor so, thankfully, low-paid workers who depend on their vehicles will not have to face this extra tax.
