There were no upsets in the second round of the Sussex RUR Cup though several top- flight sides were given good contests.
Sidlesham were 2-0 down after 45 minutes at second division East Grinstead but bounced back with a Richard Davies treble to win 4-3.
Boss Richard Towers said: "It was a bit of a culture shock. The pitch was awful and they played to their strengths.
"We dug deep but I wasn't impressed with how we performed in the first half."
Phil Thompson (2) put Wasps in charge. Sidlesham's comeback included a Glen Bridgeman free-kick with Kevin Wright replying for Grinstead right on time.
Sidley and Peacehaven both won 1-0 at second division opposition and Horsham YMCA were 3-0 winners at Crawley Down.
Mark Francis's 30th- minute penalty put YM in front. Mick Hennessy added a cool finish and Paul Young made it three after Nick Flint's shot had been saved.
Eastbourne Town, Eastbourne United, Westfield, Seaford, and also went through.
