St Leonards slipped into the bottom three in the Dr Martens League eastern division after suicidal defending condemned them to a 5-3 home defeat by Fleet Town.

The visitors, who arrived at the Firs bottom of the table and without a win, led 3-0 after 50 minutes through goals from Mark Langley, Steve Black and Stuart Finley.

Richard Callaway headed home Terry White's corner to give Saints hope, but Finley produced two good finishes to complete his hat-trick.

Des Boateng made it 5-2 and when he was pulled down in the box in stoppage time by Chris Rye, the Fleet goalkeeper who was sent off. Peter Baker converted the resultant penalty but it was a mere consolation for Saints.

Boss Glyn White said: "We missed a load of chances but defended badly and got punished.

"We had a good win on Monday but at the moment we don't seem mentally strong enough to put two good performances together which is worrying."

Worthing conceded two goals in four minutes just before half-time as they slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Windsor and Eton in Ryman League division one.

Rebels dominated much of the second half, but the goal which would have got them back into the game did not come.

Boss Barry Lloyd said: "In the first half we didn't play well but conceding two goals in such a short space of time was disappointing.

"We had a lot of the second half play but couldn't get back into it."

Matthew Brady was the destroyer, setting up Sean Dyke on 40 minutes and firing a superb finish four minutes later.

That was harsh on Rebels goalkeeper Matthew May, who made some great stops in the first half.

Sam Francis scored a first half hat-trick as Withdean 2000 cruised to a 5-1 home win over Cobham in the Combined Counties League.

Ollie Rowland made it 4-0 by half-time against visitors who tried to play attractive football but were clearly second best.

Withdean, too, knocked the ball around well and had a major boost when Damion Dobbyn got through the last 20 minutes after a four-week lay-off with an Achilles tendon injury.
