Run-down hospital buildings are to be given a £200,000 revamp.
The buildings, in the grounds of the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath, are used for treating people with mental health problems.
West Sussex Health and Social Care NHS Trust intends to use the money to redecorate, carry out environmental improvements and provide more privacy for patients.
The trust provides mental health, learning disability and substance misuse services for West Sussex.
The buildings being refurbished are the Villa, Downsview, Larchwood and Colwood units which have been criticised by patients because of their poor condition.
Trust chief executive Lisa Rodrigues said: "We need to make improvements at these buildings to raise standards while we plan for replacement."
A report on the scheme will be made at the trust's board meeting on Wednesday at the village hall in Billingshurst at 1.15pm.
