Revered drummer Spike Wells is the bandleader at Brighton Jazz Club on September 20, where he presents his polished trio.
With him is the equally renowned figure of double bassist Chris Laurence.
Chris has worked in notable ensembles with John Surman, Andy Sheppard and Kenny Wheeler.
He has guested with the Lincoln Centre orchestra led by US trumpeter Wynton Marsalis.
The pianist in Spike's trio is Liam Noble, one of the freshest talents in the UK, a brilliant composer and leader in his own right.
Spike is at the Hare And Hounds in Worthing on September 24 with saxophonist and reedman Robin Blakeman's Kicker sextet, performing the music of the late Joe Henderson.
With them will be Keith Sadler on trumpet and flugel, Duncan J Reeks on trombone, Paul Whitten on double bass and Lennie Watts on piano. A special guest for the night will be Rod Paton on French horn.
On September 25, the Stables Bar residency at The Old Market, Hove, continues, with the Terry Seabrook Trio joined by tenor sax Simon Savage.
The Mark Edwards Band is back at the Prince Albert, Trafalgar Street, with Nigel Thomas, Ron Parry and guests appearing on the first, second and fourth Thursdays of the month.
Lewes Jazz Club's attraction is pianist Pete Letanka on an expanded bill with guest vocalist Natalie Williams.
