St Leonards skipper Dave Fisher has been told he has no future at the club following a dressing room bust-up.

Manager Glyn White informed the 32-year-old striker he will never play for him again after a fracas with a member of the backroom staff following Saturday's 2-1 defeat at home to Slough Town in the FA Cup.

Last night Fisher met up with White for face to face talks about the rumpus but the Saints manager's stance was unyielding.

He said: "What happened is not acceptable and I feel let down by him. I made him captain but he has let the club down."

None of the individuals intend to take the matter further.

The Dr Martens club have sent Fisher a letter informing him of his immediate suspension.

Club chairman Mark Barfoot said: "An incident took place in the dressing room after the home FA Cup tie against Slough Town.

"It is a disciplinary matter which has been investigated internally and the club now considers the matter finalised."

The player refused to speak to The Argus.

It is not the first time Fisher has courted controversy.

The experienced non-League player, who has accumulated more than 100 bookings during his career, was banned last term following rows with the Burnham technical advisor and a fan while playing for Sittingbourne.

The former Gillingham youth player indicated he would like to finish his career at St Leonards after joining in January.

Saints travel to unbeaten eastern division leaders Rothwell Town tomorrow.

Rothwell include the league's top goal scorers Jason Turner and Simon Underwood who have each bagged six goals.

Saints are without Sean Ray (suspension) and injured trio Steve Ferguson, Phil Henderson and striker Mark Lovell, who limped off against Slough with a knee injury.
