Regarding the cost to taxpayers of the inquiry into the new Brighton and Hove Albion stadium (The Argus, September 17), I am sorry to say I think £250,000 is disgusting.
Surely the cost should be met by the club or its supporters and fans?
I have no interest in football and could not care less if they don't get a new stadium.
How can Brighton and Hove City Council justify spending money on such a venture, which essentially is a business proposition?
Why can people not realise that not everyone is into football and it does not deserve to take priority over everything else?
Perhaps the powers that be would have been wiser putting the money into trying to clean the streets or empty bins on time.
The council certainly has football pie on its face over this one.
