Nick Nurse is urging fans to be patient as they wait to hear news of Brighton Bears signings.

The Bears chief has confirmed just Wilbur Johnson and Bud Johnston so far to go along with Randy Duck, who is a year into a three-year deal.

Rivals have been busy adding to their squads with the lastest news being a new two-year deal for Newcastle point guard TJ Walker and the return of Robert Youngblood to London Towers.

Sterling Davis is expected to return to Brighton but Nurse said: "Now is the time show some patience.

"I have got a lot of guys waiting in the wings and it's a question of not being forced into taking the wrong guys for the wrong prices."

Many players aim for spots in European Leagues, where rosters are now being finalised.

Nurse is waiting for players to hear bad news from the continent before setting their sights lower.

He added: "As time goes by players and their agents get more easy to deal with."

Errol Seaman and Mark Jackson are believed to have a good chance of being retained.

The busy Sussex outdoor basketball scene steps up a gear on Sunday when West Park in Worthing stages a five-on-five event.

Mike Brown, Daniel Hildreth, James Brame, Marvin Addy and Dean Smith are among those expected to take part along with streetballers from London.

The venue is next to Worthing Leisure Centre in Durrington.
