I would like to add my comments on Transmanche Ferries following Sam Tullis (Letters, July 25).

I returned on the MV Dieppe one evening this month and found the customer service left much to be desired.

There was no evening meal menu and, when a member of my party complained the meal was cold, no replacement or refund was offered.

My father, who is partially disabled, was left waiting while the crew tried to find a way of getting him up a steep step to the lift on arrival.

Back in Newhaven, nobody knew how to operate the lift.

There was a distinct lack of lounge seating for a journey of more than four hours.

Finally - and most important - there were no safety or information announcements, apart from a garbled message that was inaudible.

In future, I will return to travelling with Hoverspeed which runs an excellent service.
