A millionaire music agent who drove his Ferrari at a family in a long-running rights of way dispute has had his three-month jail sentence overturned.

John Jackson, whose clients include Robbie Williams and Blur, revved his Ferrari violently at the two children and their parents using public footpaths on his land.

Mr Jackson, 47, claimed the dispute with his neighbours in Sedgefield Park, Nuthurst, near Horsham, had forced him to move from his £2 million home.

Neighbours were initially delighted when Mr Jackson and his family bought the property in 1995 for £450,000, hoping he would restore it to its former glory.

But even before he moved in he started complaining about his neighbours using the four footpaths.

At one point he refused Brenda Shaw access to her own front door.

Mrs Shaw took civil action and said: "It was extremely frightening. I went through hell from 1996 onwards.

"I was being threatened personally and I was also receiving legal letters saying I didn't have the rights though they were clearly defined in my deeds."

Despite Mrs Shaw winning her action, Mr Jackson continued to try and stop people crossing his land.

He was charged with a public order offence and jailed for three months. But Lewes Crown Court has replaced the sentence with a 40-hour rehabilitation order.

Mrs Shaw said: "The sentence was very stiff if you did not know the background.

"I just think that he needs to know he can never do this again."
