She has been pictured in various stages of undress in men's magazines, lingerie catalogues and tabloid newspapers.

However, model Leah Newman's next assignment is far racier - as a Lycra-clad pit stop girl for British Formula 1 team Jordan led by flamboyant Irishman Eddie Jordan.

Leah, 20, beat more than 800 contenders for the right to breathe the same exhaust fumes as drivers Giancarlo Fisichella and Jean Alesi.

She joins Jordan's 200-strong team at Silverstone this weekend for the British Grand Prix as they attempt to climb the championship ladder.

Leah, of Silverhill, St Leonards, will join two other Jordan girls on the track, including Page 3 regular Charlie O'Neale.

Leah said: "I don't really know what to expect but I'm excited about it. To be honest, I'm not a big Formula 1 fan but I'm sure I soon will be.

"They have agreed to take me on a trial period. If I do well at Silverstone, I'm hoping I will be invited back."

Leah has been to London to be fitted with her figure-hugging yellow Jordan catsuit.

Former Grove and Hastings College student Leah hopes the exposure in front of millions will help garner more modelling work.

Her face, and other assets, helped clinch her Miss Euro-Sussex crown earlier this year, putting her within a whisker of the Miss World title.

But her modelling path has been beset by insecurities. Her buck teeth and braces were a source of embarrassment as a younger teenager. And she says that, far from the glamorous figure she cuts now, she was something of a tomboy in her early teens.

She said: "It was probably because I had two brothers and no sisters. When I turned 16, I grew my hair longer and became interested in fashion."

She has not looked back. Her accolades include an unprecedented two Miss Hastings crowns.
