Morcheeba, the Brand New Heavies and Kula Shaker will be offering tips to wannabe rock stars at a summer music school.

The Brighton Institute of Modern Music will run two summer schools for guitar, bass and drums at its new home in Rock Place.

Among those taking classes will be Skye from Morcheeba, Ace and Mark Richardson from Skunk Anansie, Martin McCarrack from Therapy?, Alonza Bevan and Paul Winterhart from Kula Shaker, and Carleen Anderson from the Brand New Heavies.

The courses in August will be tasters before the first batch of full-time students enrol in September.

Qualifications available include a degree in professional musicianship.

Managing director Bruce Dickinson, former lead guitarist with Nineties metal group the Little Angels, will also be offering guitar advice.

He said: "You get to work with some of the UK's most talented artist and session players.

"You also finish the course with your own personal practice routine to help you improve in the future. How cool is that?"
