A man who underwent surgery for a broken jaw has no idea how he came to be injured.
The 40-year-old victim, of Northbourne Road, Eastbourne, remembers walking home from the town centre between 11pm and 12.30am on June 22.
He told police he was followed by a white Vauxhall Astra but remembered nothing else.
When he arrived at home his wife called police and took her husband to the district general hospital.
