A BBC radio series, Harry Hill's Fruit Corner, was soon followed by some regular slots on television.
He continues to lure the crowds on the live circuit and has also found time to write his first novel Flight From Deathrow.
But for some sheer brain-skewering lunacy, you might want to catch the man with the big talent and even bigger white collars at an intimate venue while you can.
