I find it very hard to congratulate Councillor Peter Jones of East Sussex County Council on coming third at Ardingly for a non-agricultural stand, when he says the council "is here to help our rural communities".
If only he would consider for a minute the people in the urban part of East Sussex whose area is in such a run-down state and in need of regeneration, road repairs, kerb replacement, bus shelters and action on footpath parking.
Perhaps Coun Jones would consider transferring East Saltdean to Brighton and Hove - we could not do worse than at present.
