Tara Buchanan accidentally locked herself into the back of a van in a remote Sussex country lane on the way to her home at Sedlescombe.
It was a real-life disaster for a woman who earlier this year starred for Battle Light Opera in Calamity Jane.
The only differences were, instead of being rescued by big strong men, Tara was let out by an elderly woman walking her dog - and she had to shout rather than sing.
