Karen Head is so crazy about Michael Bolton she is urging fans across the country to join her for a showing of his new Disney film.

Karen, 42, became hooked on the singer after hearing him sing Can I Touch You There? on the radio in 1995.

She started following his progress and is now organising a viewing of his new film Snow Dogs for other fans.

She said: "Fans only seem to get together at concerts or to catch a glimpse of Michael when he visits England. This is a way of getting together.

"I have friends who are fans based in Bedfordshire and Kent and I am hoping they will come down to Brighton to see the film. I am really looking forward to seeing it. It is supposed to be very funny."

Snow Dogs, which also stars Cuba Gooding Jnr, is being released at cinemas on May 31.

On June 5, the mother-of-three is hoping to watch the movie with other fans at the Odeon Cinema in West Street, Brighton.

Karen, of Baden Road, Brighton, said: "I remember the day I first heard him. My sister had rang me to say she had heard a song on the radio that she liked but did not know who sang it, so I turned on my radio and it was Can I Touch You There? by Michael Bolton. It all started from there.

"Just after that single came out, I heard he was coming over to England to do a concert so my best friend Linda Dewdney and I went to see him. We have never been the same since."

In 1997, Karen entered a competition to win Michael's new CD but ended up winning the chance to meet the star.

She said: "I could not believe it, it was brilliant. When my friend Linda and I met him I got a little bit nervous but he made us feel so special.

"I have met him several times since. His favourite flower is a rose so, in 1998 when he was over, I went up to London with Linda and waited at the stage door for him to come out. When he did he spoke to me and took my rose.

"In 1999 he was appearing on Gloria Hunniford's Open House show and I was in the audience. In March just gone he was over again for the Gloria Hunniford show so again we went up to London. Again he shook my hand.

"I have his autograph, which he signed in my copy of his biography and I have a signed photograph.

"My husband and children think I am crazy but my daughters like him as well. I think I like him for the whole package, his music, looks, personality, but it was definitely the voice I fell in love with in the first place."

Karen is asking any fan who would like to watch the film on June 5 to meet in the foyer of the cinema at 7.30pm.
