Two students donned their bikinis and spent five hours in a bath of baked beans to raise money for a trip to Peru.
Flatmates Lynette West, 21, and Kayti Phillips, 24, drew a crowd of amazed onlookers as more than 140 tins of beans and spaghetti were poured into the tin bath on Hastings Pier.
Their stunt was dreamed up to raise £5,000 to fund the girls' 12-day trip along the Inca trail in Peru in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Kayti, of Ceylon Place, Eastbourne, decided on the feat after surviving a brain tumour when she was 19.
She said: "Ever since then I have wanted to give something back. It was a great laugh, although it was freezing cold."
Other fund-raising events lined up include a knees-up at the Cross-in-Hand pub on May 17. Kayti's uncle and some friends will have their heads shaved.
