It has been said that I possess the perfect face for radio, which is probably just as well as I appear to be doomed when it comes to Albion-related live TV appearances.

Five years ago, for reasons best known to themselves, Herefordshire police blocked Peter Kennard and myself from appearing on Football Focus at Edgar Street, although Paul Samrah and the Swallow family were more than adequate replacements.

A proposed outside broadcast on South Today, from the George and Dragon in Tarring Village on Monday night, was shelved due to the TV address given by Her Majesty The Queen.

The BBC, quite rightly, thought the sight of Messrs Hart, Kennard and the 'West Sussex Massive' bedecked in replica shirts, beers in hand, singing a rousing chorus of 'My Old Man said be a Palace fan' was not really in keeping with the mood of the nation.

But it was sad in a way, because a live platform on the South's new flagship programme would have given me the opportunity to share my opinions, and those of my comrades, with our fellow football fans in Hampshire.

The age-old Hampshire TV bias may continue for another 50 years, but it cannot hide the fact that, potentially, Brighton are the biggest club on the south coast.

I do not think Portsmouth or Southampton would have achieved what Albion have in the last five years, given the same set of circumstances.

The proof of the pudding will, of course, be when Falmer is in place. Put all three clubs on a level playing field and the Albion will consistently come out on top.

You can't win a championship without a good manager and in the Albion's case, they have had two this season.

Micky Adams' contribution can never be overstated. He had his reasons for moving on, but left us all with a lot of great memories. I wish him well for next season at the Smokey Bacon Stadium, or whatever it is called. One thing, though Micky, keep your hands off Danny Cullip and Bobby Zamora.

His successor, Peter Taylor, unbelievably still receives criticism from certain sections of the Albion support. The latest charge levelled at him is that he does not acknowledge fans after matches. Does that mean the bloke with the grey hair in the Errea tracksuit clapping is Mike Yarwood?

There is much speculation that he may move on this summer if things do not progress with Falmer. If he does, and I certainly don't want him to, he will leave behind a legacy that will be remembered for many years.

If councillor Bodfish and company get their collective fingers out, talk of Taylor leaving will be just that, talk. I live in hope!

Seb Coe was a better runner than Linford Christie because he won more Olympic gold medals.

Stupid argument? Clearly, but not dissimilar from the ludicrous celebration that accompanied champion jockey Tony McCoy beating Sir Gordon Richards' record of 269 winners in a season.

Even allowing for the fact that Sir Gordon travelled to race meetings by road, not helicopter or light aircraft, the bottom line is that Richards was a flat jockey, while McCoy races over the sticks.

Clearly they are not the same disciplines, so therefore cannot be compared. Sir Gordon Richards' record of flat victories in a season can only be beaten by a flat jockey.

Tony McCoy's record can only apply in national hunt racing. I challenge any reader to put up a credible argument against this point.
