Nick Nurse is urging Brighton Bears' travelling fans to turn out in force on Sunday and roar the club to Wembley.

Bears face the toughest task in British basketball as they bid to upset the mighty Chester Jets in their play-off semi-final at Coventry (6pm).

They are already assured of more backing than they received for last Sunday's classic quarter-final tussle with Newcastle and Nurse said: "We need all the help we can get.

"The play-offs are great entertainment because people are playing to keep their season alive and I know all the people who came last Sunday got great value for money.

"If Albion can take 3,000 people to an away game I would like to think we could take a tenth of that number to Coventry."

Injury-free Bears, who reported back for training today, will be up against former Worthing star James Hamilton in Sunday's showdown.

Hamilton has played in only fits and starts since last month's trophy final due to an ankle injury but coach Robbie Peers is ready to give him a full 40 minutes again Bears.

Hamilton sat out Jets' 123-66 win over NBL Division One side Hull on Monday and Peers said: "I liked what I saw and James will add to that. Brighton can really play and they fancy their chances. They have a winning attitude and it will be a tough game."

Point guard John Thomas gave Chester a scare in that friendly when he twisted an ankle. He completed the match although heavy strapping on his fingers affected his shooting prowess.

Bears are offering packages for Sunday's game priced at £16 (members), £20 (non members). Details at: brightonbears.com or alternatively call the club on 01273 626943 or Jenny Wright at the supporters club on 01903 265722.
