After October's referendum defeat for his mayoral ambitions, Lord Bassam should have had the good grace to keep his mouth shut on the final ecological disaster of his years of misrule: Falmer Stadium.
Instead, he is given uncontested space to put forward his views.
Behind all his syrupy prose he cannot disguise the fact all he is doing is promoting more of the South Downs being dug up and destroyed so developers can boost their profits.
Shame on The Argus for giving him such space.
