Sussex based race team Roundstone Suzuki have begun the new season in style.

They recorded impressive wins in both the National Superstock Championship and the Dunlop Junior Superstock Championship at Silverstone on Easter Monday.

Roundstone riders John Crockford and Chris Burns took the first and second positions on the grid for the National Superstock, with Craig Jones starting from third position in the Junior Superstock.

Burns and Crockford stormed away in their race, only for Crockford to slide off his Suzuki mid race while in second place behind team-mate Burns. This left Burns free to go on to win the first race of the year.

Tommy Hill, from near East Grinstead, finished in 12th position.

In the Junior Superstock race Jones gained the second win of the day for the Roundstone team.

Hailsham's Glenn Kirk finished in 14th while Oliver Merrilees, of Crawley, failed to finish.

Meanwhile. East Sussex driver Craig Inskip hopes to make a flying start to his racing season at Donington Park next weekend when he competes in the opening rounds of the Volkswagen Racing Cup.

Inskip, 32 and from Northiam, will be at the wheel of his new turbo-charged 1.8-litre Golf.

Last year, Inskip enjoyed an impressive maiden season in the Volkswagen Cup and racked up several strong placings in his Class B Golf GTI.

The Volkswagen Cup, which is open to nearly all forms of track-going Volkswagen, is the fastest growing saloon car championship in the country with more than 30 cars taking part this year.
