Cash windfalls worth hundreds of pounds are up for grabs to Sussex customers with good memories.

Customers who bought goods including cookers, fridges and washing machines under a cashback scheme ten years ago must claim their money back this month or miss out.

Every year for the last decade, Gordon Beacock has written a note in his diary reminding himself he was a year closer to claiming back the cost of the television he bought in 1992.

He purchased the £370 Hitachi set from a Seeboard store under a cashback scheme with no hidden catches - except the difficulty of remembering about it ten years on.

University lecturer Mr Beacock has his television in the front room of his home in Nevill Avenue, Hove.

However, he thinks others might need a reminder, with just over three weeks left to claim.

People who bought selected items at Seeboard shops between March 2 and April 12, 1992, have until April 30 to make their claim.

Mr Beacock said: "I put it in my diary every year. I thought it would be useful to remind people to find their guarantee and get their money.

"Some people could be due a large sum."

Items covered by the offer were cookers, hobs, dishwashers, fridges, washing machines and tumbledryers, vacuum cleaners, microwaves, food processors, televisions, videos, camcorders and hi-fis.

The cost of the items can be claimed back only between April 1 and April 30, 2002, by sending the guarantee by registered post or by hand (obtaining a dated proof of receipt) to Money Back Offer, Marketing Department, Seeboard plc, Grand Avenue, Hove, East Sussex, BN3 2LS.

The guarantee must be returned with the original sales receipt.
