Clinic receptionist Charlotte Grimes is getting ready to sing in the grand final of TV impersonation show Stars In Their Eyes.

Charlotte wowed the audience in an earlier programme when she transformed herself into Catatonia vocalist Cerys Matthews.

She mimicked the Welsh singer's distinctive voice perfectly as she sang the Top Ten hit Mulder And Scully, easily winning her heat.

She is now getting ready for the final in Manchester which will be screened live to millions of viewers.

Charlotte, 23, has been based at Moulsecoomb Health Clinic, Brighton, since November.

She said: "I am so excited. It's a dream come true. I have always wanted to do something like this.

"The response from the audience at the first show was fantastic and I couldn't believe it when I won."

Charlotte, of Upper North Street, Brighton, is keeping her voice in good condition for her big day.

She and her parents and other family members will travel up to Manchester a few days before the show so she can take part in rehearsals.

She said: "Whenever I think about it all I get excited. I'm also a bit nervous but once I start performing I'll be all right."

Charlotte has always been a Catatonia fan and was bitterly disappointed when she applied to take part in the show a few years ago but did not get invited for audition.

She said: "When the chance came round again I decided to go for it and this time everything went well.

"Cerys is a great singer and the music the band has done is brilliant. Mulder And Scully is one of my favourite songs.

"No one has ever said I looked like Cerys but when the show went out people started seeing the link.

"I just said to myself I sounded like her and so I should just go for it.

"I can't wait for the final and we will have to see how things go after that. Whatever happens, it has all been a fantastic experience."

The Stars In Their Eyes final is on ITV on April 27.
