This year's Sussex Open Grand Prix has been cancelled, partly due to the absence of one of the organisers.
The event has been run for 66 years by three generations of Hastings administrators. It has outgrown the capacity at Hastings, which can only accommodate 11 tables.
The 2003 tournament will be staged at Crawley Leisure Centre where there will be room for 16 tables and local officials from the Crawley and Horsham league will boost the organising committee.
Other Grand Prix venues have got much more space. There are 32 tables at Bath in two halls and 34 tables at Liverpool. Bath accepted 320 players.
Adrian Moore, the Sussex No 2 hit a series of thrilling winners to reach the semi-finals of the men's singles at the South-Eastern Open at Gillingham.
Moore, who has just been elevated to No.26 on the England men's list, can expect another jump in his ranking after eliminating Chris Sladden (Essex), who is No.17 on the list, in the Gillingham quarter-finals.
Moore bowed out, beaten 3-0 by Ceicely Urban, from Hungary, in the semis.
Ritchie Venner reached the last eight where he lost in five games to the finalist Marco Essomb, from Middlesex University.
Sussex champion Rose Rainton was unwell and did not play on the last day of the tournament, leaving Sheila King (Hastings) in third place in the women's veterans singles.
