Vandals caused thousands of pounds of damage to a fleet of new cars.

Six Suzuki 4x4 vehicles, worth about £60,000, were broken into on the forecourt of Worthing Suzuki garage, Upper Brighton Road, Lancing.

Up to £10,000 damage was caused and several car stereo units, including Sony and Clarion brands, and a soft-top roof were taken.

Kevin Smith, managing director of Maxmatt Motor Group which owns the garage, said: "I was very surprised the vandals were so brazen because the garage is in a very prominent position and there are cameras and security lights. Someone must have seen something."

Police are appealing to the public to contact them if they are offered car radios fitting the descriptions.

Anyone with information about the incident, in the early hours of March 28, should contact PC Simon Denyer on 0845 6070999.
