When I read Voice of the Argus regarding the refurbishing of the Open Market, I had to chuckle and think about the poor councillors having sleepless nights worrying about having to make another difficult decision.

However, history would indicate we need not worry because, no doubt, no decision will ever be taken.

We will enter into eternal consultations, consider many plans at considerable expense and, as usual, inertia will set in.

We could add the Open Market to the list of Falmer stadium, the West Pier, the King Alfred centre and the station site.

It really is all talk and no action. However, I suppose if all decisions the council makes turned out like the Sita contract, it is understandable why it should bury its head in the sand.

The people of Brighton and Hove deserve so much better.
