I have lived all my life in Sussex (I am now in my 90s) and have become increasingly saddened and disgusted at the way the county has been destroyed.
I was always proud to say I was from Sussex and what a delightful county it was.
Alas, at the present rate of destruction, there soon will be very little to boast about. Fields, woods and countryside will be non-existent. Another concrete mess.
Early last summer, I went to see Bolnore Village and was sickened by the sight. The once peaceful scene was desecrated by building sites.
I understand even worse atrocities have since happened, disguised and presented to the world by the developers as acts of conservation.
Over the months, they have proudly publicised that great crested newts have been rehoused, snakes, badgers and other wildlife have been carefully catered for and hope has been given to dormice.
All the time, hundreds more trees were felled and hundreds more houses planned.
