I have just read about the problem regarding the sun shining into the Help Point in Burgess Hill causing the staff a few problems (March 11).

I sympathise with their predicament but, with council tax rises set to go through the roof this year, I cannot see how the council can possibly justify spending £5,170 to put it right.

Where does it get its quotes? £760 to move phone points. This is a common DIY job, £50 at most. £4,410 to move a desk? This would be laughable if it was not the taxpayers' money.

All this and it has taken six months of discussion to come up with this plan.

If the council can afford to waste money like this, it needs to be held to account for it at the next council election.
